Two Time Ovation Award Winner

Martin Carrillo has two Los Angeles Stage Alliance Ovation Awards to his name. His first in 2004 was shared with Julie Ferrin for Best Sound Design: Intimate Space for the Inaugural production of Romeo and Juliet: Antebellum New Orleans 1836 at Theatre @ Boston Court in Pasadena, CA. His second in 2007 was for Best Sound Design: Intimate Space for the world premiere production of Eric Whitacre‘s Paradise Lost: Shadows and Wings also at Theatre @ Boston Court. Martin Carrillo has also been nominated for Ovation in 2006 for J.O.B. the Hip Hopera.

Backstage West Garland Award Winner

The 2008 Garland award for Sound Design was given to Martin Carrillo for his work on Eric Whitacre‘s Paradise Lost: Shadows and Wings at Theatre @ Boston Court.

NAACP Theater Award Winner: Best Sound Design Equity

In 2010 Martin Carrillo won the NAACP Sound Design Award for his work on Baby It’s You at the Pasadena Playhouse. The show went on to a run on Broadway.

Nominated: LA Weekly Award

In 2004 Martin Carrillo was nominated for the LA Weekly Award for his Sound Design for Eat me by Jacqueline Wright.

Nominated: Philadelphia’s Barrymore Award

In 1998 Martin Carrillo was nominated for the Theater Alliance of Greater Philadelphia Barrymore Award for Best Sound Design for a Play and Best Original Music for a Play, for his work on Tragedy of Joan of Arc by Pig Iron Theater Company.
