OCHSA: Audio Instructor

From 2004 to 2006 Martin Carrillo served as a Sound Designer in Residence at OCHSA, and taught 4 course directed classes in the Production and Design Department: Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced Sound Design. For the Music and Theatre Department he taught a course in Recording Techniques. The class helped aspiring singers leave the program with a polished and demo of original or found material.

During his time at OCHSA Martin Carrillo Sound Designed over 15 events, musicals and dramatic plays. Among these: Into the Woods, Working, Julius Caesar, The Spoon River Anthology, Three Sisters, Seussical. He also provided sound system services and mixing support for the Jazz Department’s Big Band and Latin Jazz Performances.

Orange County High School of the Arts Acting students of the class of 2006 mounted a production of Shakespeare’s classic Julius Caesar featuring Martin Carrillo’s Sound Design and Full Score. Underscore and Interstitial elements featured a cinematic full orchestration and even included recordings of the students chanting praise for their leader.
